Why purchase essential oils from doTERRA vs big stores?
Many people wonder why they would want to purchase their essential oils from doTERRA when they can just order some from Amazon or go to Target or Mother’s Market or Sprouts and purchase some. I wanted to explain this little more in detail because this is really important to know especially if you are going to use the essential oils for therapeutic purposes and around pets or children.
Why is purchasing oils directly from dōTERRA different than buying them from Amazon, Target, and Whole Foods? The short answer is: The essential oils sold at stores are not pure and are not intended for therapeutic properties. The bottle may state 100% PURE but can actually contain only 25% essential oil and the rest are synthetic additives or chemicals. But legally they can claim 100% “pure” because there’s no industry standard other than any oil bottle containing 25% essential oil can be labeled 100% pure.
If you have a bottle of Frankincense and it says “do not ingest” it’s because it’s not pure and it’s not meant for therapeutic usage. It’s only intended for aromatherapy purposes (smelling good etc) if even that. Also if you bought the essential oils bottle for less than $10 you can be sure it’s not pure. The low price equals less quality and 3rd party test results show that these types of cheaper essential oils sold in stores have chemicals and additives added to them. If you have ever tried essential oils bought from the store and you didn’t notice a difference when using them, it’s because the oil is not high quality oils and don’t have therapeutic properties. These essential oil companies are essentially giving people power tools without telling them how to use them and these products can potentially have harmful substances in them with no quality control with vast health consequences but even mentioning the lack of essential oil education.
doTERRA essential oils are manufactured for therapeutic purpose which is different from just smelling something pleasant. doTERRA essential oils are intended to support your body naturally and every essential oils has it’s unique properties that are beneficial in supporting the body for various things. It’s important to learn and know how to use essential oils safely and what essential oil to use for what situation. With doTERRA it’s about safety, it’s about education, it’s about support, and it’s about a community and making a real difference in people’s lives. doTERRA does quality testing on each essential oil batch before it’s released to market. If the batch doesn’t meet the quality standards, the batch won’t be released.
Also pleas note that the doTERRA essential oils sold on Amazon has been found diluted and not be the authentic doTERRA products. doTERRA doesn’t have any authorized distributors on Amazon so if you are buying your essential oils from Amazon you are taking a risk. I have personally used essential oils over 7 years now and prior to discovering doTERRA essential oils, I used different brands. I can say from personal experience that there are huge differences in the quality of different essential oil brands. I had a whole cabinet full of essential oils which I thought were from a good and reputable brand and come to find out they were nowhere near of the quality of doTERRA essential oils. I wasn’t a believer in doTERRA’s essential oil quality until I tried the oils myself and saw and felt the difference with my own eyes when I used the oils on myself and my children and my husband. I became a doTERRA customer from that point on and switched out all the essential oils I had in my house with doTERRA essential oils. I never looked back.
