Essential Oils for Healthy Legs and Cellulite
The doTERRA Cypress and Grapefruit essential oils are some of my favorites for keeping the legs healthy and toned. The doTERRA Slim and Sassy is an amazing metabolic essential oil blend and Bergamot is great for promoting healthy skin. Rosemary is a great one to use too. I like to mix these essential oils with either my body cream or body oil. Sometimes I also like to do a quick leg massage and take about a teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil in my palm, add the drops of the essential oils, rub my hands together, and rub on the legs. I also like to add the Yarrow Pom essential oil blend to my body cream which is an amazing oil for antioxidant and metabolism support. I use 2-3 drops daily mixed with body lotion or cream.
Due to photosensitivity of some of the essential oils used in these recipes (grapefruit, Slim & Sassy) avoid direct sunlight for 12 hours after application on the areas of the skin that have the oils applied. I usually apply these oils at night time or in the morning if I have my legs covered so I don’t have to worry about the sunlight issue. I just want to caution you not to use these blends and then go lay out in the sun or head to the beach. Photosensitive oils can cause the skin to burn more easily when exposed to direct sunlight.
