Have you ever accidentally gotten too much sun or have forgotten to put sunscreen on? I have an a few occasion and it can be a painful experience. There are some essential oils that are great to apply after being in the sun to help the skin recover from too much sun. I use this combo on my children as well. Please always remember to dilute the essential oils with a carrier oil. I personally love the doTERRA fractionated coconut oil because it’s super light, not greasy and absorbs well. It’s the perfect canvas for essential oils.
How to use essential oils for sunburn?
Here are easy directions on how to use essential oils if you have gotten too much sun. Just use 1-3 teaspoons of carrier oil (more if using on small children) and 1-4 drops of doTERRA peppermint and doTERRA lavender essential oils. For a small child you want to use more carrier oil such as a tablespoon and 1-2 drops of the essential oils. It’s important to use higher dilution with a smaller child. What I like to do is add the carrier oil, doTERRA fractionated coconut oil, in my hand and then add the essential oil drops, rub my hands together and apply on the skin gently. Please be sure to avoid the sun until the skin heals.
